Last class before the exams

Hi there folks!
I have just returned from the last class before exams for this semester. We have done a lot of good examples and they are all available on the following link:

Please read them before the exam and make sure you understand them.

Good luck everybody and hope to see as many of you as possible next semester :-)

Examples from the Level 1 class

"Yes, yes, all that theory is OK but we need examples. Some practical Spanish." ...and here it is:

Planning to keep the file updated with the examples we use in class. Many of them are actually the students's examples. I keep the wrong ones too because is a good exercise to try to find out where the mistake is.

...and Happy New Year to everybody but Dictators and such =)

Prepositions and "There is..."

I have just improved the Prepositions Section on the Basic Spanish document. Below, above, in front of...will never be a problem now.
Also added new vocabulary about Nature and Animals on the Vocabulary document. Hope you "enjoy" the changes. Please, if you have any suggestion to make, they are more than welcome.

Now is a little grey in Puli but the Sun will soon shine, don´t give up :-)

What time is it?

At last! Now you have the numbers and how to ask the time, available on the Vocabulary document. Only thing to do now is to study it. Good luck with that :-D

I am sad because Real Madrid has lost against Barcelona... :-(

Exam answers are available

I have just posted the answers to the exams I have prepared so far (for both the Dept. of Foreign Languages and the Dept. of Int. and Comparative Educ.). You can check and discuss them with me or other students, teachers or Spaniards you may know. I would like that to make sure I haven´t made any mistake. We are only humans not robots. Mistakes are part of life  >_<  By the way, in case you are not a student of mine but want to practice, they all are level 1.

Please let me know any question you may have :-)

The tricky "to" preposition

I have just added a new page in the Basic Spanish doc, to try to explain the differences and similarities between the English preposition "to" and the Spanish preposition "a". Sometimes they are the same, sometimes they are not. It is important to understand the grammar of the sentence in one language before you translate it to another one. The word by word approach doesn't work that often :-(

Enjoy the wonderful sun we have today here in Puli :-)

Some new exercises available

Hi everybody,
I have added some easy exercises for beginners and plan to post more soon. You have some exams available too. Are they too difficult? You can try at home :-)

Have a nice rainy day o_0

Vocabulary file available

Hello everybody :-)

I have just posted a new document with useful vocabulary. Yo can check it here or just go to the Resources page in this same blog. I intend to update it with more and more stuff.

Remember that to be able to speak common Spanish you only need 2000 to 3000 words (actually this works for any language). That is our goal. When you master the basic grammar and those 2 to 3 thousand words you can say you speak Spanish.

So...how many do you already know?  o_0

Some minor changes

The Basic Spanish document has been updated. Nothing big but now you can see the difference of Affirmative, Negative and Interrogative forms (page 8). Takes about 2 minutes to understand it. You can try to practice at home with some of the sentences we have already written in class.

P.S. 1: I am aware of the problems some web browsers may have with the Google docs interface. That is why I included the old Basic Spanish document, made with the previous version of Google Docs. Please note that I am not going to update it too, but is still useful anyway.

P.S. 2: The best way to see the document is to download it as pdf before trying to print it. I do my best to keep the pdf version with a nice readable format.

Que la fuerza os acompañe :-p

New Grammar Videos Ready to Be Watched

You can check some of the new videos in the Grammar section. Useful to find out whether you understood or not the lecture material. You can play them again and again... may be not, I don't want you to have nightmares about Spanish.

Have a good Spanish experience!

About Spanish pronunciation

Ok, at last I have finished the series of videos about how to pronounce the Spanish phonemes using both Chinese bopomofo and English pronunciation. In the end you could say you knew all of them except the "damn" Spanish "R".
Watch them and make sure you master them because is the first and most important step on your journey to Spanish :-)

By the way, they are available at the page titled Spanish Pronunciation above this post, in the main menu.
何路 wishes you all a good day.
